Super etsian, photoamato!

Check out the work of Etsy seller photoamato and help her ring in the New Year with her 35th sale! Her stuff is really awesome, like this artichoke print for example:

In addition to running my Etsy shop, viaPaddington, I work as a background actor in Hollywood (a very interesting job which I might have to write about later). Well, last week these two jobs happened to collide. While I was waiting to be fitted for a costume, I met a fellow background actor named Judalina and was happy to find she was also a fellow Etsian! She sells vintage shoes and she's great at finding the cutest ones in the best condition. My favorite of her finds are the B and W and Read All Over Newspaper Girl Heels (pictured above). You ought to check out her shop.

Speaking of shops you ought to check out, I love love love imyourpresent's playsuits, dresses, and accessories! They are just too cute.

My new orders from Superbuzzy and Repro Depot came in. Aren't these fabrics adorable? My favorites are the "Pear Blossom" from Superbuzzy and the bamboo-cotton blend from Repro Depot. I've never worked with a bamboo fabric before! It's so silky, it feels like water in my hands.

I'm excited that Superbuzzy is right here in my town (Ventura, California). When my order is ready, I can just go pick it up at the warehouse! If you don't know Superbuzzy, they sell really sweet, high-quality Japanese import fabrics and some other craft supplies, like yarn, books, patches, etc.

Here's a behind-the-scenes peek at my new project. It's going to be a 1930s-inspired dress for a child, size 2, and it'll be in my store as soon as it's finished. . . . Which it almost is! Only I'm having a little trouble with the sleeves (I seem to have cut them too small) but that should soon be resolved.

I love this fabric! It's Kona Cotton in Pink from Repro Depot. It's great all around but what I really love is the color! It's so sugary. It feels less like I'm sewing a dress, and more like I'm making cotton candy or strawberry milk.
